It brings us great joy to with you the new House to Restore website. As you many know the concept for Houses to Restore was conceived back in 2008. The initial concept for Houses to Restore was to contain all of the houses that were for sale that were in need of work and to provide advice to those buying a fixer upper
At the the time Instagram didn’t exist and software was a lot more cumbersome and less agile then it is today
The idea came back and went a few times since 2008 but it wasn’t until the global pandemic stopped us all in our tracks in 2020 that action was taken and Houses to Restore came about
The journey began with an Instagram page that highlighted fixer uppers that were for sale. As the interest in the page began to gather pace they page then began to cover the cost of renovating and extending along with general pointers on things to look out for when buying or refurbishing a fixer upper
Many of the general pointers shared came off the back of collaborations with many of Houses to Restore’s friends including Tom Rooney from iSurv, the interior expert Adele Roche, Peter Finn aka Pete the Builder and Fergal Cantwell from Envirobead
Despite the pages success there was no clear plan for Houses to Restore. Some organic developments and opportunities that arose included provided advice to those buying fixer uppers, acting as the main contractor and renovating houses on behalf of some followers that we met along the way along with some media work
Housetorestore.ie was designed with the aforementioned in mind. The website gives an overview of the renovation service and advisory service we offer plus it outlines the type of collaborations and media work Shay is available to for. Over time the blog section will evolve and develop into a reference point and guide for those renovating
The great thing about the website is that enables you to book in for an advisory session for those looking for advice or a home assessment for those looking for Houses to Restore to
renovate their house or apartment
